Software Engineer in our Concord, Massachusetts office.

Key Responsibilities for this Position

  • Develop java framework for analysis of availability
    and pricing data, incorporating results into real-time search architecture.
  • Creation of tools for testing and improving the customer
    experience of the kayak.com meta-search engine.
  • Embrace and extend existing search architecture, with focus on
    reliability etc.

Works With

  • Chief architect for overall platform standards and spider
    architect for search code.
  • QA manager to co-design autotest plans which you will develop as
    part of your code.
  • Product management and business development on feature
    requirements and priorities.
  • Business technology partners, including the folks whose sites we
    search.
  • This position reports to our Director of Technology in Concord, MA
    USA.

Candidate Experience

  • We don’t care where you went to school, or if you went to school.
  • We don’t care what languages you use to program.
  • We don’t care how many years of experience you have.
  • You must be the strongest programmer on a 5+ person team for a
    successful internet product.
  • It might help if you knew stuff like lex, yacc, regular expressions, etc.
  • It would be fun if you were a world class kayak athlete, or world
    class at something.
